The history of the Paul Jaboulet Aine House began in 1834, when Antoine Jaboulet began to cultivate fertile lands in the Rhone Valley near the 45th parallel. The House became more widely known already under his sons Henri and Paul. Moreover, the entire family company was subsequently named after the latter. Since then, the right to manage the unique vineyards of the House has been passed down from generation to generation.
In January 2006, the company was acquired by the Frey family, champagne producers and owners of Chateau La Lagune in Bordeaux. At the same time, together with the new manager Frederick Mares, the representative of the family clan Frederick Jabule continues to work in the company.
The most famous Jaboulet wine is Hermitage La Chapelle. La Chapelle 1961, for example, is among the symbolic top ten wines of all time.

The area of Jaboulet vineyards is about 100 hectares. In the northern part of the Rhone Valley, the variety of terroirs favours Syrah grapes, so it is the main variety of red grapes grown on the farm. Rusan, Marsan and Viognier varieties are used to create white wines.

The Jaboulet House prefers traditional methods of vineyard care. The yield for the main wines is limited to 25-35 hl/ha. The average age of the vines is 40 years, but there are also exceptional 80-year-old vines. All work is carried out manually using antique tools. The use of herbicides is prohibited, only organic fertilizers are used.
